The LORD God: Discovering the Intimacy of Creation in Genesis 2
In Genesis Chapter 1, we were introduced to Elohim —the supreme, all-powerful, and mighty Creator. But as we transition into Genesis Chapter 2, the language shifts. We receive a more detailed, intimate account of creation, and with it, a new name for the Divine: The LORD God. Elohim refers to God’s power as the Creator of the universe. Yahweh (YHWH) refers to the "Eternal One"—the one who was, who is, and who is to come.
